I have attached my resume and current transcript, but please let me know if there is any other information you need. I have no background in computer science, but my math background is decently strong.  I am primarily interested in learning how math can be applied to studying perception and the brain in general.

Secondly I want to be able to use the knowledge I gained there, in my research life and apply to my own field.I know it is a huge subject and I should start to learn how and whats of the science now if I want to work in such a field.I want to be a part of a research enviroment which has clearly defined aims. Most importantly I think it will be a lot of fun for me to be there and learn the material I am triyng to learn by myself at its home enviroment.

I am interested in your work because I think the link between perception and conscious experience is one of the most fascinating mysteries of the mind, and I know my passion for the subject will carry over into my work ethic as a lab assistant. I have attached my resume and list of relevant coursework but want to emphasize that my hard work and commitment make me a long-term investment for the lab.

I do not as of yet have experience with Matlab or Python, although I will have to take CS61A or E7 in the next few semesters for my Cog Sci major.  I am even considering taking one of the two over the summer and would certainly do so if it would make a difference in my usefulness to your lab.  As far as my math experience goes, I have taken math 1b and math 53 so far.

I am very proficent in matlab especially and I can also post references from the professors I have worked with.

I am a freshman cognitive science major currently considering research in cognitive neuroscience as a possible career path. This summer, I want to immerse myself in a relevant project so as to gauge and develop my interest in research and acquire new skills.
